The Steam Train to Cheltenham: Arrive in Vintage Style

There is only one way to arrive at the Cheltenham Festival that guarantees zero traffic stress and maximum nostalgia: The Steam Train.

For the 2026 Festival (10th–13th March), we have secured exclusive inventory on the “ATR Express” departing from Toddington Railway Station. This isn’t just transport; it’s the start of your party.

Why Take the Train?

If you have ever driven to Cheltenham, you know the horror of the traffic jams on the Evesham Road. The Steam Train bypasses all of that.

  • The Journey: A scenic 35-minute ride through the Cotswolds, Malverns, and Vale of Evesham.
  • The Destination: The train pulls directly into Cheltenham Racecourse Station, situated just a furlong from the Paddock and opposite the North Entrance. You step off the train and straight into the action.
  • The Vibe: Live Irish music on the platform at Toddington sets the tone before you even board.

What’s Included?

Our Steam Train packages can be booked as a standalone transfer or combined with our hospitality suites (like The Venue or Marquee).

  • Free Parking: Park your car easily on hard-standing at Toddington Station (GL54 5DT).
  • Allocated Seating: No fighting for a seat. You have a reserved table for your group.
  • Onboard Bar: A full cash bar service is available throughout the journey. Enjoy a Guinness, wine, or Champagne as you steam past the queues of cars.
  • Private Carriages: For larger corporate groups, we can reserve an entire vintage carriage for your exclusive use.

2026 Timetable (Provisional)

Trains depart Toddington in the morning (approx 10:30 AM) to get you there for the first race, and return 45 minutes after the last race, giving you plenty of time to collect your winnings.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The only way to travel"

"We used to drive, but the traffic was a nightmare. The Steam Train was a joy—sipping champagne while watching the cars stuck in traffic was very satisfying! Dropped us right at the back of the Grandstand."
